Dog supplement cost calculator.
Work out what any chew, treat or supplement really costs per day and per month. Use the numbers from the package, and the serving size printed on its label.
$0.50 per day, about $15.00 per 30 days. Each serving costs $0.50, and one package lasts about 60 days.
How is the cost worked out?
Cost per serving is the package price divided by the number of servings in it. Cost per day is the cost per serving times the servings you give each day. A month is counted as 30 days, so your monthly total may differ slightly. Your numbers are not stored or sent anywhere.
What does a worked example look like?
A $30 package with 60 chews, at 1 chew a day, costs $0.50 per serving. That is $0.50 per day, or about $15.00 per 30 days, and the package lasts 60 days. At 2 chews a day the same package costs $1.00 per day and lasts 30 days.
| Servings per day | Cost per day | Days the package lasts |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | $0.50 | 60 |
| 2 | $1.00 | 30 |
Where do I find the serving size?
The serving size is on the product's label. The label is the right place to take it from, so use the serving on the label for your dog's weight, or the amount your vet recommends. This calculator does not suggest an amount for any dog.
What else should I compare?
Price per day is only comparable if the servings, and the amount of each named ingredient in a serving, match. Compare the ingredient list and what each serving contains too.
